Beach Time...

I leave this week for the glorious, glorious beaches of Fenwick Island...where I will be riding my bike, eating crabs and Fisher's Popcorn, and relaxing with a good book on the beach....Will try and post while I am gone, but there is no WiFi in the cottage.
In the meantime...what are some good beach reads I need for my week away?

Glastonbury Part 2

Saturday Night featured my favorites and whom some have called the Glastonbury House Band. Coldplay. They played an amazing set filled with lots of old and new stuff. Chris' voice was right on and Will Champion was bashing the heck out of those drums. Please note that the main stage at Glastonbury is called the Pyramid stage because...duh...it's shaped like a pyramid. Coldplay decided to light the whole pyramid up during Every Teardop which had never been done before. Amazing!

Glastonbury

This past weekend in Somerset, England 175,000 people gathered for Glastonbury. For those of us in the US who have no idea what Glastonbury is, its the biggest summer music festival in the world. The festival was started in the 1970s by Michael Eavis. He is not only the event organizer but the owner of Worthy Farm where the festival is held. Last year there were over 700 acts playing on 80 stages. It not only focuses on music but also drama and art.
The big story every year is who will be the headlining acts for the 3 nights of the festival and this year did not disapoint. U2 made their very first appearance Friday night, Coldplay made their third headlining appearance Saturday, and Beyonce became the first female in the festival's history headlining on Sunday night. I will separate these into different posts so you don't have to scroll down forever but here are the recaps of each of the three nights.

Friday-U2
U2 were supposed to headline in 2010, but Bono had surgery and they had to cancel. This year the anticipation for U2 and the set up of a "greatest band in the world" face off with Coldplay had everyone really excited. They played for an hour and a half in the rain and mud, and as you can hear the crowd loved it dispite the weather.

Winner...

Ok I have been not really feelin the whole bloggin thing as of late, and for that I am sorry...so here's a little update...

My mother, sister and I started a weight loss challenge on June 1st. We got inspiration from the book the 17 Day Diet. Basically it is a diet based on cycles of 17 days. The first 17 days are really strict and then as you get through each cycle new foods are introduced into your diet until you reach the weight you want. It is supposed to help boost your metabolism by changing each cycle. Now I am not normally one to get into weird crazy diets, but I have to say that this has worked. After the first 17 days I have lost almost 10 pounds!! It feels good and I am hoping to continue on with the diet cause frankly I have never felt better.

Needless to say...I was the winner of our little challenge!! Mom and Jennifer now owe me $25 each!!! What Up!!!!!!

In other news...geearing up for the beach in a little under two weeks...I bought a beach bike and it is so cute!!! My sweet dad picked it up at the store so it would be ready for me when I get to Fenwick.

That little Red cottage is calling my name.

Is it Friday yet?

Where the cool kids are these days...

Hey Peeps!!!
Wanted to share the latest and greatest obsession in the social media world with you all...Most of you already know about them, but for those who are new to the school block here are where the cool kids are hanging out.

Instagram
For iPhone only-Free App

Instagram is similar to Twitter but instead of 140 characters or less, you take a picture. Friends can follow you and like or comment on the pics you take and it is a great way to kind of keep a digital scrapbook of your life. This app is replacing Facebook and Twitter for me more and more. I used it all the time in London and most of the pics you have seen me post on this blog have come from Instagram. Oh by the way, its only available on the iPhone. Sorry Android losers (oops did I say loser, I meant user).

Pinterest

Pinterest is amazing. You can add this link to your Windows or Safari browser that allows you to "pin" things you like or want to different boards. Your friends can follow you and its a great way to share ideas. Whether it be Music, Travel, Food, Design, Movies, Books. You are basically keeping track of things that catch your eye. Its like one massive Christmas List (which is probably why I love I so much). It also takes away from the hassle of "Oh I saw this great Kitchen idea on a blog once, but I can't remember which one." And the other big plus-there's an app for that too.

If you are already on Pinterest or Instagram and would like to follow me. My user name is atheis.
