Geeking Out...

After 4 years of having the same pair of glasses that are no longer even useful, I finally got a new pair. I have been wearing them this week in an effort to look more hipster and just for a change of pace.
I discovered this awesome website called Warby Parker. The basic premise is similar to TOMS shoes in that when you buy a pair of glasses they donate a pair to a child who needs them. It always feels really good when you can shop (my favorite hobby) and do a little good at the same time.
Below are a few of my favorite glasses from Warby Parker.

Provisions

It is a constant battle some days to remain grateful and content. So many things seem to bog us down with worry. We get in the daily routine and forget that He is always faithful. Was in one of my funks this morning when I read Ann Voskamp's blog and came across these gems.
"What if we believed in the deep places, the darkest recesses, that He always provided — and not just barely, but abundantly?"
"And when God provides, He should be praised, and if God always provides, shouldn’t praise always be on the lips?"
It was a Word God knew I needed to hear this morning. That even in my moments of discontent or worry, he will ALWAYS provide and he is ALWAYS faithful.

May we live today and every day with His praise on our lips, and his Word close to our hearts. A constant reminder that he not only provides us with food, water, family, friends, but with the Amazing, Mighty power of his love poured out on the Cross that is greater than all our sins and the ulitmate Provision!
"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." -Matthew 6:25-33

Cover Time...

Ok, my week of jamming to some new tunes has continued...this time with some awesome cover songs...
Here are my current favorites...

First off, My Love for Adele knows no end. This girl's voice is amazing!
Her new album is available on iTunes February 22nd. I will be buying it fo' sho'

Next up, I have already proclaimed my love for The Pierces on my last post, but here is further proof. This version of Lady Gaga's Alejandro is the jam!
Side note-Is anyone else over Gaga and her crazy antics? Its like come on girl if you want to prove how talented you are let the music speak for itself. There is no need to hatch out of an egg or wear a raw meat dress to prove you are talented.
Thanks for letting me get that out...here are The Pierces.

Most peeps know Sara Bareilles is my girl. She always does a great job if putting a new spin on songs that you would not think would sound good. I love her so much that I have included two songs. The first being a cover of Coldplay's Yellow and the second Beyonce's Single Ladies.

Finally, my favoritest band ever...Coldplay and their version of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean.

For Your Listening Pleasure

New Music makes me happy...Hopefully you will feel the same...

The Pierces
Sisters Allison and Catherine Pierce, from Alabama have made an awesome EP called "Love You More" Their full album "You and I" will be out in May, and you can bet I will be downloading it.

Their Album is on repeat a lot in my car. Its the perfect music to just chill to, and imagine yourself cruising down a coastal highway.

The Civil Wars
Beautiful, minimalist music that you can't help but be mesmerized by. They just performed in Charlotte last night. I missed them, maybe next time.

Just for Old Times Sake...
I go back and forth between a lot of different Beatles' jams, but at the moment the whole B side of Abbey Road is my favorite. Here is a snippet...

Updates...

Newest developments in my world...

Bad News-
January was the month of sickness for me and snow. Had a couple snow days which was fun while it lasted, but not so fun taking very precious days off of work.
Also, had some sort of crazy stomach bug for two days. Couldn't keep anything down and lost 3 pounds in the process (Silver Lining?)

Good News-
Bought my plane ticket to London for the last week in April...I know I am crazy, but its this new found Travel bug that i just can't seem to shake (and honestly don't want to). I figure I will travel as much as my wallet will allow until the day I get married and start having babies. (To be honest, that may not stop me. I may just be strapping the kids in a plane and taking them with me. Lord Willing!)

Side Note-
Exciting things I will be doing in London.
-Good Friday Service at Westminster Abbey
-Easter Services at Hillsong and St. Paul's
-The Royal Ballet's performance of Cinderella

-ROYAL WEDDING!-Thinking early of the best strategy to see the Prince and Princess on wedding day. May have to wake up early and scout the best picture taking locations!

More Good News-
-Kendra and I started watching Mad Men. Its amazing and has made me want to start wearing lots of liquid eyeliner and red lipstick.

-Started Discipleship with one of my High School Girls, Kristen. Her thirst for the Word is such an encouragement and is contagious. Love her!

That is it for now...I am going to try and be better about my blog writing skills!!!! I promise.
